Kate Robin Henderson

Kate Henderson is a practicing photographer and visual artist.  She graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design in 2007 with a major in photography. She has shown work locally for the past seven years. Kate uses photography as a tool for archiving and documenting a variety of writings, books, photographs and objects from her own history or the history of others.  This idea of archiving or conveying information has branched into her most recent drawings of pie charts. The process of drawing these charts has become an obsessive and repetitive act.  Each chart is drawn meticulously with painstaking attention to detail, colour and form.  The charts do not measure anything specifically but are more an experimention with colour theory, graphic design and visual communication.  There is an open-ended quality that encourages the viewer to create their own theory of what the work could be measuring.
